A Century of Food People Love
Founded in 1919 as Nebraska Consolidated Mills, Conagra Brands has spent more than a century earning a place in homes and kitchens across America. What began as a regional flour milling operation grew into one of the most recognized consumer food companies in the world.
Through decades of strategic growth — building household names like Hunt's, Healthy Choice, Birds Eye, and Slim Jim — Conagra transformed from a commodity grain business into a diversified, modern CPG powerhouse. Today, Conagra's brands are found in 99% of American households.
Headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, Conagra Brands operates across frozen, refrigerated, and grocery categories, employing approximately 18,000 people and serving consumers, retail partners, and foodservice customers nationwide.
Making Food People Love, Responsibly
At Conagra Brands, our mission is simple: to make the food people love. But making food people love means doing it with integrity — nourishing communities, respecting the planet, and investing in the people who make it all possible.
Nourish People
We craft products that meet real needs — from convenient weeknight dinners to better-for-you snacks — making quality accessible to every household.
Respect the Planet
We are committed to reducing our environmental footprint at every step, from responsible ingredient sourcing to recyclable packaging and lower-emission operations.
Strengthen Communities
We invest in the people and places where we operate — supporting food banks, advancing workplace equity, and building careers that last.
Our Commitments to a Healthier Planet
Conagra Brands is committed to building a more sustainable food system. From our fields to your freezer, we're reducing waste, lowering emissions, and sourcing responsibly — with measurable targets that hold us accountable.
Packaging Reduction
Target: 100% of Conagra packaging to be recyclable, reusable, or compostable by 2025. We have already transitioned over 75% of our packaging footprint and are on track to meet our commitment ahead of schedule.
Responsible Sourcing
We source key ingredients — including palm oil, soy, and fiber — according to responsible sourcing standards that protect forests, biodiversity, and the livelihoods of farming communities.
Greenhouse Gas Emissions
Our science-based target: reduce absolute Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 20% by 2030 (versus a 2020 baseline). We continue to invest in energy-efficiency upgrades and renewable energy procurement across our manufacturing network.
Water Stewardship
We prioritize water efficiency at manufacturing sites in water-stressed regions and have implemented best-practice conservation measures at all major facilities.
ESG: Transparent by Design
Conagra Brands publishes an annual Corporate Responsibility Report aligned with the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) and the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) frameworks. Our ESG program spans three pillars — Environmental, Social, and Governance — each with defined goals, baseline metrics, and independent verification.
Environmental
Climate action, packaging circularity, water stewardship, and sustainable agricultural sourcing — with Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions reporting and annual third-party assurance.
Social
Workforce safety, diversity and inclusion metrics, food access programs, and supplier diversity — underpinned by clear benchmarks and year-over-year progress disclosure.
Governance
Board-level oversight of ESG strategy, ethics and compliance programs, executive compensation linked to sustainability performance, and transparent political activity disclosure.
Investing in the Communities We Serve
Conagra Brands believes that strong communities are the foundation of a strong company. Through hunger relief, workplace inclusion, and local investment, we work to create lasting impact beyond our products.
Fighting Hunger at Scale
Conagra Brands partners with Feeding America and regional food banks to donate millions of pounds of food annually. Through our Nourish Our Communities program, we've contributed over $100 million in product donations and financial support to hunger-relief organizations across the country.
Diversity, Equity & Inclusion
We are committed to building a workforce that reflects the diversity of the consumers and communities we serve. Our DEI strategy includes pay equity analysis, diverse leadership development pipelines, and employee resource groups spanning gender, race, ethnicity, and veteran status.
Conagra Foundation
The Conagra Brands Foundation provides direct grants to non-profit partners focused on food security, education, and community resilience — channeling corporate resources to where they're needed most.
